Political update
I have been totally snowed under by work in the last week so have neglected the blog. Meanwhile the country is entering political fever with elections less than a month away. |
For a quick update on what’s going on, why not try one of the following:
- Summary of key news on what’s been happening in November (done by me, which will be produced fortnightly)
- Good and surprisingly accurate profile of Evo Morales, leader of the opposition party who is widely expected to win the Presidential elections in the New York Times
- Article on Evo Morales and US policy by the Andean Information Network
- Interesting article on NACLA looking at US attempts to shape Bolivian politics in the last few years under the banner of "democracy promotion"
I will write more on the elections soon, but for political boffins who want to keep up to date (in English) keep an eye on the following blogs/sites: Democracy Center, upsidedownworld.org, MABB and Barrio Flores
