Campesinas

Mexico City

A close-up of one of Diego Rivera's murals in the National Palace. Diego Rivera was a social artist in Mexico who believed art should be taken out into the public by being painted on walls, institutions etc. In this mural he told the history of Mexico from indigenous cultures to colonial exploitation to the revolution, strikes and dreams of a socialist future.
