I can see why the Aymarans worshipped the sun. It completely transforms the environment here on the Altiplano. Before it rose, the landscape was absolutely bitter and desolate, but as the sun crept over the horizon, it spread a brilliant colour over the landscape and brought the first moments of warmth.
