A worrying day as news of bombs in London comes in. I can't help feeling both miles away, but also very close as I see pictures of streets, newspaper stands, double-decker buses and other London scenes that I know all too well after 10 years living in Brixton. The hourly rising death and injury toll is particularly distressing. I just hope everyone I know is ok.
UPDATE (9/7/05) One friend replied to an email checking whether my friends were ok, saying it made her realise in a small way what it must be like to live in Baghdad where this happens daily. One of my friends, Justin Alexander, is in Baghdad and has been recording his response to events on his blog.
I'm fine. Shocking day though.

Nick, we're all fine, thanks. I even went to a party in Manchester Square, behind Selfridges, last night. People are still having picnics in the parks. Travelling by bus feels like an act of defiance now. People are a bit nervous, shocked, angry...but getting on with life. It's a great shame. London was on a real high after winning the Olympics. So wonderful to beat the French like that. Now this. Almost unanimously, Londoners have behaved with dignity and decency in the aftermath. When people do their worst, other people (in great numbers) do their best. So there's hope yet... Hope you're okay. Will write again in happier times. Andy

I is incomprehensible to me that the government is taking so long to start givin some information about the victims.
I have been looking all over for a list of victims, missing and so on. There is none.
If you guys know of one, please let me know. I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
